PNG Mama Money

K2,000.00

Traditional and modern PNG money.

From Colonization to Independance, Papua New Guinea has gone through transition of currencies.  Our ancestors used tractional money in Bride price ceremonies, Compensation and other traditional ceremonies. Shillings and Pounds were used during the colonial years before the Independance when Papua New Guinea changed it’s currency to Kina and Toea.

The One Toea and Two Toea are no longer tendered currency due to the drop of our Kina or money value. Traditional money is still used today in special occasions. One Kina is a legally tendered currency of today.
